Santer - The mystery cat

A mystery cat called the Santer terrorized the North Carolinian farming communities at the end of the 19th century, killing livestock and causing much publicity. The cat was described as being the size of a large dog, with a grey striped coat. It was never captured or identified and by the end of the century it disappeared never to be seen again.
